[SCARVES] Sir Paul Smith celebrates relaunch of Led Zeppelin albums

To mark the launch of the newly re-mastered versions of the extremely popular nine music albums by the iconic English rock band Led Zeppelin, the British fashion design veteran Sir Paul Smith has created a new collection of scarves.

Measuring 1.5 by 1.5 metres each, the 9-piece line has been inspired from the artwork on the covers of the legendary nine albums, which have been reissued in chronological order after being re-mastered by the group’s producer and lead guitarist Jimmy Page.

Made from luxurious fabrics, the monochromatic themed Led Zeppelin cover image has been replicated using a photographic weaving technique while the bright eight coloured impression of Led Zeppelin II cover has been achieved through the usage of four different yarns.

The psychedelic effect of Led Zeppelin III album cover has been reproduced by combining boucle and merino wool fibres and Led Zeppelin IV and Houses of Holy have been recreated with woven jacquard.

Each of the exclusive scarf designs will include limited 50 pieces only and will be available for sale at London’s Paul Smith store and online at PaulSmith.co.uk from October 23rd, 2014 onwards.

Before his latest music collaboration, the designer had earlier teamed up with the 1980s rock legend synonymous for his quirky fashion choices David Bowie to celebrate his latest album The Next Day. The designed had created a printed T-shirt featuring the album’s artwork.

Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000, the 68-year-old designer Sir Paul Smith is internationally famous for his menswear designs.

Formed in 1968, the Led Zeppelin band members include the guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, drummer John Bonham and bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones. (PB)
