Earlier this week the chief planner of the incredible 1985 "Live Aid" concert Bob Geldof publicly stated he recently discovered that pirated copies of the show were being sold on the Internet. As a result of this disturbing news, organizers of the show will auction off the rights to release it on DVD. Of course, the highest bidder will have to get permission from all the artists who took part in the concert before releasing the DVD. Split between London and Philadelphia, brought together such stars as Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Queen, U2, Madonna, Black Sabbath, David Bowie, The Who and more! The combined shows raised an estimated $148 million for African famine victims. Proceeds from the DVD will go to the Band Aid Trust, which still provides relief to Ethiopia and the surrounding area.
