John Paul Jones at Merlefest

John Paul Jones showed up at the Annual Merlefest weekend at Wilkes Community College, in Wilkesboro, NC. April 29-May 2, 2004. After playing in Saturday night, Jonesey also turned up on Sunday, May 2nd, with John Cowan (traditional, americana artist http://www.johncowan.com/index.php?content=bio.php) and performed a traditional song (sorry, I don't know the name), and even did a small snippet of Dazed and Confused. See http://www.sharingthegroove.org.

JPJ also played with Gillian Welch and David Rawlings on a secondary stage for a Midnight Jam on Saturday night. It appears that the performance was recorded and broadcast live on XM radio, and there is talk that the Cowan/JP song may appear on the annual Merlefest Highlight CD.
